Pins have arrived!!

*throws confetti* We're happy to announce that pins have finally arrived and we will begin processing your orders very soon! So far, we've already gone through a few hundred pins and they turned out very beautiful. Our manufacturer did a great job with them and I'm so pleased!

So what happens now? Currently, I will begin grading and processing the pins and getting the put on backing cards and ready to go out. I'll be inviting over a couple of friends to help this process throughout the week so we can get through them as quickly as possible. I'll start putting together orders and putting him out.

Then, the most important step, I bribe our mailman with baked goods to come pick up all of the orders! A big round of applause for Kevin, our dear mailman, who is very patient and kind with me and my mass amounts of packages that go out. 

Once your order has been shipped out, you should receive a tracking number via BackerKit. We are hopeful that we can get out most of the orders in the next couple of weeks. If you have any questions, let me know! Now, back to sorting pins for me. Have a great week everyone!

Pins are finally arriving!

It took longer than expected, but the enamel pins are finally being shipped from my manufacturer! They're only just getting shipped, so it'll probably be a week or two before they arrive and as soon as they do, I will definitely let you guys know and get right on sorting and packaging. You'll get a tracking number via BackerKit when your order has been shipped out.

14,000 pins, twelve boxes, and 165kg (about 360lbs.) worth. 

If you need to update your address (I locked backerkit addresses a bit prematurely, in anticipation of receiving pins a few weeks ago instead of in February) please let me know right away and I can unlock your address on my end so you can fix it to make sure everyone gets their rewards!

Pins Nearly Complete!

So, pins took a little longer than anticipated. I finally got an update from my rep and she said a handful of the designs are completely finished and that the rest of them were coming out of the plating bath (gold plating is the last step in the process.) So I'm hopeful this means that they should all be getting shipped to me soon and we could begin shipping by the end of the month. I will keep you all updated as I get updates myself.

That's all for now, like I said, from what my rep said it sounds like pins are just about done and just have to go through quality check. Once they arrive, I do my own quality check, grade pins, pin them to backing cards and then wrap them up. This will be quite the process and I'll do my best to get through the 14,000 pins as quickly as I can.

Hey everyone! As many of you know, production time was pushed back a tad bit due to the amount of pins that were ordered. We ordered a whopping 14,000 pins, which pushed our estimated production time back by about a month. 

My manufacturing rep has been amazing and is keeping me updated every step of the way. She sent me mold samples last week. Currently molds are being processed and enamel being filled. 

How does the enamel pin process work? First a metal mold is created and the metal base is produced. After that, each of them are filled with enamel. Glitter enamel is covered with clear resin. After that, the pin is buffed down so that it's smooth and all the same height. After that, they attach pin backings and then plate the metal (in this case, gold plate!) Black rubber backings are attached, each pin individually wrapped, and then voila! They're shipped to me to start processing. 

What's next? After I receive the pins, I will begin grading and sort out any pins with manufacturing defects. Even good manufacturers have occasional defects (dents, underfilled or overfilled enamel, etc.) so I'll invite a couple of friends over and we'll process, grade, and individually process 14,000 pins for probably about a week. Each pin will be placed on a backing card and wrapped up. After that, we'll begin shipping out orders!

As far as production of all the other items goes, backing cards have arrived and so have the metal bookmarks. I will be locking shipping addresses this week and begin processing orders that are solely bookmarks. We're still waiting on the mini-prints and I still need to order packing supplies, which only takes a couple of days since I order straight from warehouse. 

Also, please give my roommate a big round of applause for putting up with all of my crazy projects. Our living room is constantly covered in boxes and one of these days I'll upgrade to an actual studio so I can spare her the grief of not having anywhere to sit whenever I've got a new project getting processed.

Pins in Production!

You should have received your BackerKit survey about two weeks ago. If you haven't, you can use the BackerKit Survey Recover here: https://celestial-myths-and-magic-hard-enamel-pins.backerkit.com/ and get another one sent to you. If you have any issues with your email or receiving your survey, please let me know. We are still waiting on about 9% of backers to finish their survey.

Current BackerKit orders will be locked tomorrow and your cards will be charged on November 2nd for any add on purchases. If you want to make any changes to your order, add anything else on, etc. please do so before tonight. 

Moving soon? You will be able to change your address all the way up until shipping begins. I'll make sure to send out a reminder before shipping begins, so that you can make sure your address is updated and correct. 

Pins are officially in production! Because of the large quantity of pins, my manufacturer has informed me that it'll likely take between 1-2 months for them to be produced. We're looking at an updated timeline of December to January for shipping. Unfortunately, we likely won't be able to get them out by Christmas as I had suspected, but I promise that as soon as they do arrive I will do my best to get them out as quickly and efficiently as possible. I already have people lined up to help put pins on backing cards, wrap them, and package them. I'll also make sure to keep you all updated on where we are in the process as well.

Bookmarks and backing cards are in production as well, so I'll be receiving them soon. Again, do to the high quantity (1650 metal bookmarks total!) it will take a bit longer than anticipated for the bookmarks to arrive since I am using a smaller US printer as opposed to a large factory. If they do arrive before the pins, I'll be shipping out bookmark only orders first.
